Just did my first (and fairly large) friends cut - and as I promised, I'm letting my flist know. (If you can't see tigger-01.livejournal.com/55388.html, then I've removed you from my friends-list).
The reasons were:
- the journal has been dead for several months
- we just never really clicked
- you have never commented on my journal/have not for a long time - and vice versa.

I hope there are no hard feelings - friends "cut" is such a harsh word, but I guess we are just going our seperate ways.

I loved meeting and knowing you all, and I hope that you have happy lives wherever the wind takes you - and I hope we see each other around here again sometime soon.

In other news – a lot of shows are coming back/just have come back this week. I hope everyone enjoys the Supernatural, Smallville and Ugly Betty episodes that should be screening about now. I’ll catch them on YouTube as soon as I can. 
In that vein, I watched the new Gossip Girl episode (1x14) – it was okay, not amazing, I guess. But judging by some of the spoilers flying around for the remaining 3 episodes, this was just a buildup to some major drama ahead, which should keep most fangirls occupied over the summer break. 

I swear I had a lot more to say in this post, but now that I’m actually typing it it’s all gone out the window. xD

PS: Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to tobywolf13!!!! Hope you have/have had an enjoyable day and you have an exciting, safe and successful year ahead of you!! [Maybe Smallville will gift you a nice Chlark-y scene? Though that could be too much to hope for. xD]

Whenever I copy and paste something into either the rich text or HTML box to post - the words are the only thing that comes, without any of my italics or bold modifications.
Is there anyway to transfer them along with the words, or do I have to redo all of my changes by hand again once I've put them in the Post an Entry box?

It's been fun catching up with old friends in the past few days - and in between coffees and encounters with snakes at the bus stop (bloody Australia) - I watched The Covenant with the exceedingly good looking Steven Strait and the appearances of Carter-from-Gossip-Girl, Chase Crawford (Nate Archibald from Gossip Girl, Tyler in the film) and Jessica Lucas (2030 CE, She's the Man). 
Whilst Steven looks absolutely gorgeous in his open necked black shirts, tuxedos and speedos *yum* (as do all the others) - the film is to be used only as a SQUEE fest with some friends. 
DO NOT, under any circumstances, TRY AND UNDERSTAND THE PLOT. It will be the death of you. 
While it attempts to be a "action thriller"- despite the fact it's confusing, random and vaguely amusing. The subject matter (descendants of five families of witches form the "Sons of Ipswich" - the fifth family was killed in the Salem Witchhunts, but were they really...?) was fascinating though - so I definitely will check out Stephen King's The Shining if I've got some time. 

And because it occured to me that I'd never given you guys my lowdown after the complete half!season of Gossip Girl - here it is. Cut for length. :)

The manips are awesome and the lovebars look fantastic - so I reccommend everyone (especially all those lovely people who got me addicted to Winchullivan in the first place *wink*) to go and steal. 
This ship will always hold a special place in my heart because it's the first ship I ever indulged in on LJ after being repelled by the excessive amounts of Clana on FF.net (back when I used to lurk around winchullivan ) and it basically hooked me into first Supernatuaral (I didn't even know who Dean was!), and then LJ.

Credit definitely goes to them for plot and ideas. :) 
Unfortunately can't tell you more about it because it would sort of give away the story. ;)

*sigh* Not much else to report, really - I've been wavering between lethargy and depression, but I'm trying really hard to snap myself out of it. Went for a an hour and a half walk yesterday, iPod in hand... just thinking. Bought school excercise books today - what do you guys think I should decorate them with?
SUGGESTIONS, people!!!

On the fandom front - for SV I still have Gemini to go (I'm kind of avoiding it), for Heroes the unaired pilot AND for Gossip Girl I'm up to episode 8 (almost finished it).
The interesting thing about the uber-pretty cast is that there's such all round sexual tension that there are a multitude of pairings to go round. Anything from Dan/Serena (sweet, but getting a bit sickly sweet) to Nate/Jenny to Blair/Chuck to... don't get me started on the slash. When I've watched more I'll give you a nice report on my "findings" - but as a clue, Nate (I really feel for this boy - he tries his hardest, he's just so... confused and lost. It helps how hot Chase is, though) and Chuck are on the rise in my affections, and Dan's sliding after this whole Vanessa/Serena debacle.

 I'm spamming, and therefore shall make this quick - before I forget to announce this to the world:
I. LOVE. GOSSIP. GIRLS. 

It's my new guilty pleasure - well written, great soundtrack, EXCELLENT views of the NYC skyline... a good, fresh, sophisticated cast - it's hotter than the OC, definitely. ;)

I'll give you a more detailed update after I've seen more than two episodes (this show had me hooked in five minutes, I swear) - but let me now proclaim:

I LOVE DAN. And in a similar vein, I DESPISE CHUCK.

She's written (which is how I "met" her, actually) a very, VERY good Bollywood newbie guide - I recommend everyone who has ever watched/considered watching a Bollywood (Hindi film industry) film to read it. It helps with understanding where the melodrama and the song/dance routines come from - much better than my ranting, promise. xD

SPEAKING of Bollywood films - I saw an EXCELLENT one recently - Taare Zameen Par. 

 

Also saw Enchanted - the Disney animated/reality film starring Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey - even if the real star for ME was James Marsden as Prince Edward, and whoever played his "eeeevil stepmother". I missed the beginning – but… the film had it’s moments, I guess. And James and Amy really have the expressions of an animated Disney character down pat. The dancing/singing working scene with the animals? Um… EW! But ultimately I wasn’t convinced of the “true love” central premise of the film – or of the love between Amy/Patrick (I can’t even remember their real names!).
I guess I have a belief that there is no one true love out there for you – life and love is an adaptation process.

You’ve got to find someone who’s thinking you understand - and if you can accept that at the beginning, the rest will, hopefully, come in time.

But I’m getting off topic - and I don't think that made any sense.

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a restful Boxing Day (for those that celebrate it!!)
Our family went out to a rainforest region about an hours drive from our home, and had a relaxing day at waterfalls and picnic spots with some family friends - I had some good laughs with my cousin and some friends, so that was nice. :)
And the Boxing Day sales *grins* - only there for about two hours, but grabbed this GORGEOUS print dress (the second dress I've got!) which will make my friends very happy, I'm sure. Hoping to go again (the Boxing Day sales last for two weeks) today or tomorrow and see what else I can lay my hands on! xD

But to today's morning news - Opposition Leader of Pakistan (leader of the PPP) Benazir Bhutto has been assasinated in Rawalpindi, and once again Pakistan has been plunged into chaos and violence, and the elections have been thrown into severe doubt. I'm not going to really comment on the political situation in Pakistan (Bhutto has a string of corruption allegations to her name too, and I'm not going to be arrogant enough to "tell" Pakistan how to fix her problems) - but I want everyone to spare a moment and think of the 20 people who were killed in a following suicide attack, and those dying in riots across Pakistan.
Just hope for them that 2008 is the year peace begins to return to Pakistan - and perhaps the year that the rest of the world, for once, starts supporting their fellow humans (and realising what their own governments may have had to do with the problems in the first place).

And hope that next year, for once in my own life, I do more than watch a television screen in horror and talk, but actually do something to help.
